Refinishing that honors how the house was built.

An architectural refinishing trade. Decks, porches, cabinets, trim, floors and siding, repaired and finished so they last.

The Summit Avenue Porch

An older home on Summit Avenue, with a porch floor that had reached the end of its life. Caleb took the floor down to the joists, laid new tongue-and-groove boards, brought a column back to his shop for repair, fitted new trim, and stained it all.

Services

Quality over quick

Caleb started painting at fifteen, learning the trade from master painters in West Virginia. He later moved to Wisconsin and started Integrated Refinishing.

He reads about architecture for the love of it, and it shows in the work. The goal on every job is a finish that suits the period of the house, looks right, and lasts as long as it possibly can. That means the best-performing products available, and non-toxic ones wherever possible.

Restore before replacing

When a porch floor is past repair, it gets real tongue-and-groove boards, the way it was built.

A driver resting on new floorboards, with screws set at the edge of a board

Fastened to stay

Each board is screwed down at its edge, so the fasteners hold tight and none show on the finished floor.

A wood window sash on a workbench with each pane of glass carefully masked

Prep is most of the job

Sashes and doors come out, get masked pane by pane, and are refinished on the bench.
